CAIRO: Adding Existing DocumentsMost documents in the Cairo system are created through Cairo, but there are times when you have created a document away from Cairo, perhaps using special programs or a file which has been sent to you from elsewhere. Cairo can accept any format file - though that does not mean it can always display it. Files which Cairo knows about, such as Word documents and HTML web pages can be viewed from Cairo. From the Main menu select Document Options, Add Existing File to see this form:
This is basically the same form as you use for Creating Documents, but in this case you can either type the name of a file on your PC or click the Browse button to search for a file. Click the Browse button to see this dialog:
This is the normal Windows file dialog box - from here you can move around folders until you find the file you want to select. Double click the file to select it and close the dialog box. The filename is displayed in the Select Document field. Now you can complete the form in the same way you did when creating a document. When complete, click on the Accept button. Transferring a large document or file from your system can take some time, so please be patient and wait until you see this screen:
