CAIRO: Managing Support Files


Support files are a loose collection of different types of files used throughout Cairo. They include:

  • Reports: templates for the various system reports
  • Templates: used when creating committee documents
  • Photos: of the members of the council
  • Logos: of the various political parties represented on the council

You can ADD, COPY and DELETE support files. User with System Operator permission are the only ones allowed to do this. So you may not have the following menu options available - in which case please your system operator to set up any changes you require.

Adding Support Files

Select System Menu, Add Support Files to see this form:

You select a file on your PC by typing the name or clicking on the BROWSE button.

You select a target folder from the drop down list.

When click ACCEPT the file is transferred from your PC to the Cairo system. Please note for large files this may take a little time - so please be patient and wait for the completion message.

Copying Files to your PC

Select System Menu, Copy Support Files to see this form:

This option lets you copy support files to your PC. So, if you need to modify a support file, copy it to your PC and then use the ADD option to return it to the CAIRO system.

Select one or more files and click on ACCEPT to see this display.

You can now right-click on each of the files and select Save Target As to specify where the file is to be saved to, this is the same as saving files from the Internet.

Deleting Support Files

Select System Menu, Delete Support Files to see this form:

You can select one or more files in any of the categories can click on DELETE to remove the file.

WARNING the system cannot check whether you use the support file - so do not remove support files unless you know they are not required.
