Duke Nukem 3D

Duke Nukem

Well, its still my favourite game 3 months on. Stuart however has become an on-line Quake fanatic - neither of us were overawed by the single-player Quake - but multi-player is definitely something else.

Meanwhile, Duke3D combines the action and operations of Doom with a brilliant sense of style - this game just oozes megadeath sleaze, but mostly its really good humoured.

It does have a slightly adult content (there are pinups and a strip show) but its not real smutty.

We hope to bring you a report on the latest Duke3D CD with another X Zillion levels on it. There we also be a new version of Duke soon.

DNALLEN prints "Buy Major Stryker"
DNBETA prints "Pirates Suck!"
DNCASHMAN Duke drops dollar bills when space bar is pressed
DNCLIP turns clipping on/off
DNCORNHOLIO toggles god mode
DNCOSMO prints "Register Cosmo Today!"
DNHYPER same as using steroids
DNITEMS provides all keys
DNKROZ same as DNCORNHOLIO but lasts a shorter time
DNRATE shows the current frame rate in upper left corner
DNSCOTTYxy level warp: x is episode, y is level
DNSKILLx changes game difficulty: x can be 0 to 3
DNSTUFF provides all items, keys, weapons, and ammo
DNVIEW provides a "chase plane" view of Duke

I really like some of the cheat names, such as SCOTTY for warp mode! Anyway, we also have some game play tips too:

When you are in the cinema - have at look at the front of the projector.

Have you tried shooting up fire hydrants or urinals?

When using the pipe bomb:

  • Kneel (Press "Z") and fire pipe bomb places the bomb where you want it.
You can then retreat a safe distance.....

  • The longer you press the fire key, the further the pipe bomb goes. If you combine this with "look up" you can lob them a long way.

  • You can fire many pipe bombs at once. Place the first, then press "6" and place another, and so on. When you have a placed a complete mine field of them, retire to a safe place. When you press the fire button they all go off at once. Particularly good in Dukematch!
