Lunar Conspiracy

Man did NOT go to the Moon!

Yeah, yeah you've got to be kidding - or so I thought until some-one pointed out some discrepancies in photographs supposedly taken on the moon.

While you are reading this a rather large JPEG of Armstrong on the moon is being loaded below.

When its there I ask you to consider the following aspects of this photo.

1) Look closely at the shadows, how come the shadows are really strong and crisp, yet Armstrong is fully lit? Why isn't he in shadow as well?

2) Why does the horizon get dim? On the moon there is no atmosphere, so there should be no diffusion of light from distant objects.

3) Why can you see the top of his backpack, this suggests that the photo was taken from a height (the cameras are actually mounted on the chest of the spacesuit).

4) Have a close look at the shadows in the visor, they seem to go in all sorts of directions.

All of this suggests that this photo, famous the world over and seen by millions is actually a montage. Think that's crazy? You just need to consider the photo montage that convinced the world that Lee Oswald Harvey was trained by the military in Cuba or Russia.

Armstrong on moon

Convinced yet? Well, how about some other questions?

5) The Earth is surrounded by the radioactive Van Allen belt. Firstly, how do the astronauts get through this and survive. Secondly, even if they can, why doesn't the film on these photo's get fogged?

6) Why is it that when they are coming in to land on the moon you never hear the rocket motors? The cabin is pressurised so the sound should travel.

Personally, I can't believe that faking the whole thing isn't harder than actually getting there, but it makes you think....
