Electronic mail is now proving as essential to the corporate infrastructure as the telephone. It is a simple and universal means of co-ordinating the interaction of teams and tasks throughout an organization. From small companies to worldwide enterprises, the only way to communicate effectively is via Uniplex Mail.

The benefits of Uniplex Mail can run the length and breadth of your organization - from the shop floor to the boardroom, R & D to Sales, secretaries to field engineers. As information becomes more accessible, accurate and timely, the organization becomes more responsive to the changing demands of the market.

At the highest level, it provides the infrastructure for implementing corporate goals and the knowledge to evaluate business information so that positive, informed decisions can be made. The growth in public service networks such as the Internet and CompuServe opens up new vistas of information exchange and the potential for collaboration with associates around the globe, as well as round the corner.

Electronic mail is the backbone of the Nineties office and beyond, from which stems a unique ability for people to stay totally in touch with the rapid changes that affect their work, the work of others and the factors influencing their business.

Staying Ahead of the Game

Uniplex Mail is a solid, well established application with over 1,000,000 users world-wide. Compared to LAN-based mail systems, it has a reputation for integrity and reliability that comes from being designed and built, from the ground up around open system platforms.

It is a sophisticated and flexible electronic mail system that allows the efficient distribution of all forms of information, from short notes to complex reports. Uniplex Mail will enhance your office communications, allowing both instant comments and shared document working, eliminating telephone-tag be it inter-office or inter-continental.

Mail can be prioritized to distinguish urgent messages and to allow the most cost effective route to be selected for different message classes. A password security system can be employed to protect individual items of confidential correspondence. Valuable transmission records are automatically maintained, allowing you to confirm whether a message has been delivered or even whether the recipient has read it! You can even have different in-trays for different topics, so that all mail for a given topic can be automatically filtered into the appropriate tray.

These are just some of the features that have allowed Uniplex Mail to stay ahead of the game when it comes to electronic communication.

Pushing Back the Barriers

Uniplex Mail has a lot more going for it than simple UNIX mail systems and other proprietary services. With Uniplex Mail, not only can you construct a highly effective, self-contained mail network for your own organization but you can extend that network coverage to include your customers and suppliers around the world by linking up with private and public carrier systems such as the Internet.

Uniplex Mail can allow any or all of your staff to access associates on 'the Net' in the same way that they communicate with their colleagues in the next office. With Uniplex Mail you have a single system that can handle all your internal and external communication needs.

By implementing MIME controls (RFC 1521) within Uniplex Mail and combining mail with the Uniplex Document Access module messages can be correctly sent and received to and from external sources with higher resilience and a higher level of capability to receive and read the information therein.

MIME-encoded messages can contain any body part and multiple nested levels, each with their own encoded body parts. Decoding and Encoding is performed automatically by the client application at either end. Alternative body parts are also supported relying on the client to display the type with the highest functionality.

The Choice is Yours

Consistent with its open systems philosophy, Uniplex Mail will allow you to use the computing device of your choice it supports both character terminals and Motif workstations associated with UNIX applications. Uniplex Mail will successfully support a community of users using a variety of computing devices and will do so in a very cost effective manner. As the mail service is provided via the UNIX server, administration of the system is centralized for all users and as a consequence, the overhead of running the mail network is significantly reduced when compared to equivalent LAN-based systems.

More Than Just Electronic Mail

As a product, Uniplex Mail is much more than just an electronic mail system. Uniplex Mail includes an optional built-in Time Manager and Personal Organizer.

In a high pressure environment the most precious commodity is time. The Time Manager gives you the power to manage your time more effectively by planning your calendar and scheduling meetings or resources both for individuals and teams.

The Personal Organizer includes a simple yet powerful card-index utility which can be customized to hold different forms of discrete information like names and addresses.

All in all, Uniplex Mail offers everything you need to keep your organization in touch.
