Sample Web Sites: Hart News

Hart District News Hart District News was an early experiment in transferring traditional printed communications to the web. Using the core materials already prepared for the printed letter meant that apart from a little scanning there was little preparation required to make the new web pages.

From start to finish took just 4 days for the first edition. Follow up editions could be completed and on-line in just 2 days.

Overall costs, even allowing for the extended time on the first run were still less than the cost of the print run for the newsletter.

As web coverage extends across the population it is now practical to consider the web as being the only source of some published material. That is not to say that the whole printed run can be lost, but that cost savings in reducing the printed size can be applied to the web instead creating more value for the same money.
